Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to cleanse my lashes and get them wet?
After the 24 hr curing period, you can absolutely get your lashes wet. It is VERY important to clean your lashes and lash line regularly, to remove oils and makeup that could build up, breakdown your lash adhesive and potentially irritate the skin around your eyes. Keep your lashes and lash line clean to prevent infection!
If I don't like my lashes can I get a refund?
NO. In the event that you decide you simply do not like your lash extensions, a free lash removal will be offered.
What if all of my lash extensions shed in a few days?
This is HIGHLY UNLIKELY. Your natural lashes shed at a rate of 1-5 lashes, per eye, everyday. So some shedding is completely normal and no cause for alarm. The only instances where COMPLETE shedding may occur is if your lash extensions got wet, skin care products were used near your eyes before they had time to fully cure during the 24 hour curing period, oil based products were used near the eyes at any point, or you naturally have oily hair follicles. Please be sure to follow all aftercare instructions carefully. Free touch ups for abnormal shedding are offered within 2 days of service. NO refund will be issued. NO exceptions.
What if I have an allergic reaction to the lash extensions?
This is rare, but some people do not know ahead of time if they are sensitive to the adhesive. If swelling occurs within 24 hours of your lash application, please make arrangements to return IMMEDIATELY for free lash removal. If you know you have very sensitive skin, opt for a skin patch test prior to your appointment to see if you any irritation occurs. Please note that allergic reactions are no fault of Slay Lash and Brow and no refund will be issued.
Can I wear mascara or eyeliner with my eyelash extensions?
It is NOT recommended. Using mascara and eyeliner products could shorten the longevity of your lashes and adversely affect the durability over time.
Can I use oil based products on my face while wearing my lash extensions?
No NO NNNNNOOOOO! Oil is the enemy!
Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes or cause them to fall out?
As long as you FOLLOW AFTERCARE PROCEDURES-- No. Your eyelash extensions will shed with your natural lashes at the rate of 3 to 5 per day (which is what your natural lashes do anyway.) This is completely normal. Aftercare procedures are covered in detail at the conclusion of your service.
How often do I need to fill my lashes?
Ideally, every 2 -3 weeks. 3 weeks being the absolute maximum amount of time to wait to fill. Anything beyond 3 weeks will most likely require a new set of lashes, depending upon how many individual lash extensions are left on your eye. We do offer a 90 minute fill for those who aren't able to get in sooner and have had a lot of shedding, but you must have retained at least 25% of your extensions in order to be a candidate for a fill. Less than 25% WILL REQUIRE A NEW FULL SET.
